The beaches of Martinique are quite diverse. Some have black sands, some have white; some allow nudity, and others are secluded and natural. In Fort de France you'll find the shores are mostly comprised of white sands and calm waters. Luckily, all of the beaches in this town are public, even those backed by resorts, so you can visit them all and for free.
There are several beaches to consider in and around the area. Snorkeling is available at some of the beaches, if some of the people in your group enjoy this relaxing pastime. You can click on individual beach names for more detail concerning that particular location.
Plage de l'Anse Madame: The waters are perfect for all of your favorite watersporta at this beach, from swimming to sea kayaking. On the beach there is a children's playground, and nearby a golf club, so you'll be able to extend your fun beyond the shore.
A second place for beach-goers to consider is Pointe du Bout. Pointe du Bout is a small, narrow man-made beach that is home to several marinas and an abundance of hotels and resorts. The beach is lined with restaurants, shops, and facilities.
Anse Mitan: The golden beaches of Anse Mitan feature clear but deep water. The shore is spotted with palm trees, which conceal a few small bistros.
