This beach is in William's town, where its immediate surroundings are not nearly as urbanized as those on surrounding beaches (Xanadu to the west and Lucayan to the east), making East Palm a nice quiet spot without being too far away from the excitement of Freeport.
Located two miles south of downtown Freeport, East Palm Beach is on the South West coast of Grand Bahama Island. You might want to drop by even if you are not staying particularly close by. Finding the best beach in the Bahamas is easy if you seek the right balance. You may want one that is far away from the crowds, but still near many of the major hotels and restaurants; that's the type of balance you'll discover at East Palm Beach.
To get to the eastern portion, take E Beach Dr (sometimes called Beachway Dr) south from Freeport all the way to the water. Continue on the road down the coast if you want to reach the more secluded portions. Eventually, the road stops, and following a dirt path will lead you to the beach at its most remote location.
The beach here is long and straight. It can be narrow in parts, but widens nicely in others. The water off the shore is clear and usually relatively calm. The eastern portion of the beach is more populated, but fewer and fewer people make it out the further west you go.
Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.
You should remember that East Palm Beach's location is a popular spot, so make sure to get a spot!
