From the world famous Port Lucaya Marketplace to the International Bazaar, Freeport is one of the best places in the Bahamas to get in some shopping.  Not only will you find a huge variety of goods at low prices, this is also a duty free port, so your savings are even greater.

Port Lucaya Marketplace is an open market along the bay with shops selling brand name items, jewelry, and typically higher priced items that you can get at a discount compared to in the states. If you're only going to visit one shopping center in this town, though, it should be the International Bazaar.  Located in the heart of town, it has a bazaar feel with a display of international goods from nearly 30 different countries around the world.  The shops are spread out over 10 acres and is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Finally, there is also some shopping to be done right at Freeport Harbor.  This area has a straw market appeal with a lot of souvenir shops for a quick item to add to your collection.

If you're hoping to find some souvenirs you might want to try Harley-Davidson Freeport, which is located in Port Lucaya, in eastern Freeport. Harley-Davidson is a globally recognized dealer or high quality motorcycles, and their popularity has seen them expand into the Bahamas. While you may not be looking for a motorcycle this vacation, the store does offer a variety of souvenirs and brand name items that have become collectible. A second possibility is The Art of Giving, which is located three and a half miles (five and a half kilometers) to the west of Harley-Davidson Freeport. If you are looking for a gift for any occasion, then the Art of Giving store in the International Bazaar is a good place to check out. Another place you might enjoy is The Glass Blower. If you are walking through the International Bazaar, one shop to definitely check out is the Glass Blower. Stop by Leo's Art Gallery and take a look at some of the paintings done by the local artist, Leo Brown. Another option is Curiosity Shop, which is found less than a hundred yards (about a hundred meters) from Leo's Art Gallery. Curiosity is the only shop in the Bahamas to sell fine conch jewelry. This spot also has sterling silver pieces, Marahlago Larimar, miniature clocks often encased in whimsical figurines, NAO figurines hand made in Spain, brand name fragrances, and aroma therapy fragrances and accessories.
