One of the more popular beaches on Grand Bahama Island, this is a favorite spot for families as there is convenient access to restaurants and other facilities close by in Freeport.

Positioned in Xanadu Beach, two miles south of downtown Freeport, this beach is on the South West edge of Grand Bahama Island. You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Those searching for a somewhat calm, but somewhat social beach in the Bahamas may find that Xanadu Beach is just the right spot. It's not the type of beach that gets packed every day, but it's not totally devoid of people either.

How to Access The Beach
Located on the southernmost part of the island, the beach can be accessed by taking Dundee Bay Dr from Pinta Ave in southern Freeport. From Dundee Bay Dr there is public parking off to the left after crossing the bridge.

Amenities and Ambiance

The white sands, clear emerald waters, and phenomenal views you envision before you make you make your Bahamas trip are all here, and despite its popularity, you'll always be able to carve out your own quiet spot in the sand at this quintessential Bahamanian beach.

The concession stand located here is another lunchtime alternative.

For your convenience, restrooms are available at Xanadu Beach. Shower facilities are available, so you can clean off the sand before hitting more attractions.

Still, you ought to see that even if there are definitely options for amenities and services for you to enjoy while at Xanadu Beach, it will be found inside a popular area that can get crowded. If throngs of people are something you want to avoid, it is a smart cause to make plans to visit for times when there are less people, perhaps showing up in the morning. If you wait around, you might run the risk of all the amenities becoming overwhelmed.
