Xanadu Beach

One of the more popular beaches on Grand Bahama Island, this is a favorite spot for families as there is convenient access to restaurants and other facilities close by in Freeport.

Positioned in Xanadu Beach, two miles south of downtown Freeport, this beach is on the South West edge of Grand Bahama Island. You should think about stopping by even if you are not staying in the immediate vicinity. Xanadu Beach is one of those beaches that never gets too crowded, even though its not far from some of The Bahamas' best hotspots.

How to Access The Beach
Located on the southernmost part of the island, the beach can be accessed by taking Dundee Bay Dr from Pinta Ave in southern Freeport. From Dundee Bay Dr there is public parking off to the left after crossing the bridge.

Amenities and Ambiance

The white sands, clear emerald waters, and phenomenal views you envision before you make you make your Bahamas trip are all here, and despite its popularity, you'll always be able to carve out your own quiet spot in the sand at this quintessential Bahamanian beach.

Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch.

You won't have to worry about finding a bathroom at Xanadu Beach because there are public restrooms. Shower facilities are available, so you can clean up before leaving.

Bear in mind that the area surrounding Xanadu Beach is highly urbanized, which means the availability of certain amenities is likely to be affected.

Visitors will find this beach on the South West coast of Grand Bahama Island; it will be near other attractions like Bahamas Princess Ruby Course, which is a mile and a half to the north.

To some, beaches and museums may seem an odd combination, but at least a few travelers find that museums like Science Museum (situated just a quick taxi trip away) offer rare insight into Caribbean life and help share a different side of the Bahamas.
