Gosier Attractions

As the island's top resort destination, Gosier makes it its business to keep its visitors satisfied.  This is why this area has some of the most diverse attractions available within easy access, from picturesque beaches to cultural landmarks.

Beaches

You'll find a large number of beaches to enjoy in the area. Regardless of whether you'd rather be part of a busy beach scene, or you prefer a quieter spot, you should find some appealing options. Click on each beach name for a detailed review of that individual beach.

If you are hoping to go snorkeling, a place where that is an option is Ilet du Gosier. The waters off of Illet du Gosier are a snorkelers paradise, especially around the capsized tug boat near the dock and gorgeous formation of beautiful coral reef. These areas are home to various exotic and colorful fish species.

Another good choice for those who enjoy snorkeling is Creole Beach. There is a water sports center on-site, so Creole Beach's visitors can enjoy an array of activities in and on the surf, as well as traditional swimming and sunbathing. The Creole Beach Hotel bar provides tasty drinks to cool guests down on hot days.

Callinago Beach: Callinago Beach is a small crescent-shaped beach backed by the Callinago Hotel. Palm trees line the beach and proved a lush backdrop of shade.

Landmark Attractions

If you are looking to do some sight-seeing, visit Musee du Costume et Tradition. It is located in the heart of Gosier. Focusing on the dress and clothing worn by the different segments of society throughout Guadeloupe's history. This side by side comparison will give visitors an interesting insight into the relations between classes and races.

An alternative landmark could be The Bitasyon. It's a museum towards the middle of Gosier. Opened in October of 2008 this museum is all about the history of royalty and throughout guests will be treated to exhibits of royal clothing throughout antiquity, plus scenes of life in the first half of the 20th century.

Fort Fleur D'Epee A Musee: In addition to simply exploring the fort itself, visitors will also be able to check out a small art gallery located within Fort Fleur D'Epee

Waterfalls

Even though most tourists are attracted by the region's beaches, those aren't the only way to experience the area's natural beauty. The one example is Moreau Falls. It is located 9.1 mi. South West of central Gosier.

Parks

Visitors can also experience the local park nearby.

Place de la Victoire is located within downtown Pointe A Pitre, 3.5 mi. Northwest of central Gosier. The place where a guillotine stood during the French revolution, this square was later named Victory Square and is now a place for a nice stroll as well as a common gathering place.

A second attraction in this category is Les Jardins de Valombreuse. Set in a hilly region of the island, Les Jardins de Valombreuse is a botanical garden and family fun center where you will not only be able to view local flora and fauna, but have a lot of fun while doing it.

Zoos and Aquariums

If the thought of spending part of a day surrounded by sea life sounds like fun, you should visit Aquarium de la Guadeloupe. One of the best rated French aquariums, visitors at the Aquarium de la Guadeloupe have the chance to experience more than 60 species of tropical fish. Snorkeling tours are even available with members of the staff.

People do not usually stay in Gosier for its gambling opportunities, but there is one option, Casino du Gosier. <p>More than just a casino, this is a full service entertainment complex where even those who don't necessarily like to gamble will find plenty keep them busy.</p>

A vacation in Gosier can range from relaxing to adventurous depending on which attractions you're hoping to see.  Plan for a nice mix of the two and you won't be disappointed.
