Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve

Part botanical garden and part preserve, the Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve is a privately protected forest dedicated to the native plants that grow in the Bahamas that have become under threat from invasive species.

When coming to the Leon Levy Preserve, guests will be able to explore a variety of trails that will lead them throughout the park to see some of the native plants. Additionally, guests will learn of the benefit the native plants offer, and how the invasive plants can hinder those benefits.


Situated toward the center of the island of Eleuthera, in the vicinity of South Palmetto Point, Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve always welcomes residents and travelers lodging on this part of the island or nearby. However, even if you aren't staying nearby, you should feel free to stop by to check it out. It is 2.0 miles east of Governors Harbour.

The park is open every day of the year, including holidays, from 9:00am until 5:00pm.


General admission into the preserve is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $6 for children 12 and under. Cash or credit card is accepted.
