Bahama Beach

This beach is on the west end of the island, and might be a nice place to stop off for a nice view of the ocean if you're making a trip to or from the western tip. Not a heavily traveled spot, you may be the only person out here.

Situated in the vicinity of Freeport, 1.6 miles west-northwest of Holmes Rock, Bahama Beach is on the West edge of Grand Bahama Island. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. If you're looking for a quiet part of the coast, away from crowded tourist attractions, you should consider visiting Bahama Beach.

How to Access The Beach
From the Warren J Levanity Hwy (or Queen's Hwy), there are a number of small, unmarked side roads on the left that will take you out to the water.

Amenities and Ambiance

There are only a couple residences in the area, but almost none on the beachfront. It makes for a really nice place to stop for a picnic. It is quite a drive from Freeport, but if the feeling of being on a Bahamanian Out Island is what you're looking for, it may be worth the trek out here. The water is shallow close to the shore, the sand is fine, and coastal trees all along the perimeter provide excellent shade.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

If you usually go for beaches which offer those who visit a relaxing enclave, then you should enjoy Bahama Beach; it is located within a more rural section of Grand Bahama Island.
