Bahama Beach

This beach is on the west end of the island, and might be a nice place to stop off for a nice view of the ocean if you're making a trip to or from the western tip. Not a heavily traveled spot, you may be the only person out here.

Located in the vicinity of Freeport, 1.6 miles west-northwest of Holmes Rock, Bahama Beach is on the West coast of Grand Bahama Island. You should consider stopping by even if you are not staying in the vicinity. This beach is not just another beach attraction, it also has a private beach feel——a unique quailty in a touristy place like the Bahamas. While Bahama Beach might be a little harder to reach, it's a pleasure to find an undisturbed plot of sand like this one.

How to Access The Beach
From the Warren J Levanity Hwy (or Queen's Hwy), there are a number of small, unmarked side roads on the left that will take you out to the water.

Amenities and Ambiance

There are only a couple residences in the area, but almost none on the beachfront. It makes for a really nice place to stop for a picnic. It is quite a drive from Freeport, but if the feeling of being on a Bahamanian Out Island is what you're looking for, it may be worth the trek out here. The water is shallow close to the shore, the sand is fine, and coastal trees all along the perimeter provide excellent shade.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.

If you usually desire beaches which provide a relaxing experience, then think about trying out Bahama Beach; it is tucked away within a less urban area of the region.
