At this Churchill Beach, you can find some of the same crystal-clear waters that has made Barbary and Gold Rock beaches famous, but you can do so with a bit less of a drive.
Situated in Smith's Point, Churchill Beach is on the South West coast of Grand Bahama Island. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. The surrounding area is not overly populated, but that doesn't mean you won't find a fair amount of excitements at this beach.
Head west on Midshipmen Rd, which can be found south of E Sunshine Hwy. After you pass the Lucaya International School on your left, take you second right, which will take you down to the beach and runs parallel along it. There are parking opportunities right off the road.
The waters off the shore are jaw-droppingly gorgeous and usually very calm. Swimming is a good option here, as is sunbathing, particularly if you want to do so away from some of the more crowded beaches right in Freeport. There are some residences in the area, and continued development looks like a given.
Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business.
Churchill Beach brings guests an angelic and peaceful environment, thanks to the fact that the area surrounding the beach is free of city-life and traffic.
Set on the South West coast of Grand Bahama Island; it will be near other attractions like Grand Bahama Labyrinth, which is three quarters of a mile away.
Some may feel that museums and beaches are an odd combination, but many travelers find that museums like Ye Olde Pirate Bottle House (situated four and a half miles to the west-southwest) offer a fun learning experience and a whole new side of The Bahamas' history.
