Friar's Bay Beach

Populated by a small crowd of locals and tourists in the daytime, this beach is known for occasional nighttime beach parties as well.

Located near the heart of Saint Martin, near the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten, Friar's Bay Beach is on the South coast of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You might want regardless of whether you are staying in the vicinity. Though not very urbanized, visitors frequently find this a worthwhile destination as a way to escape the crowds.

St. Martin has so many interesting places to sit and enjoy a meal, but don't think that table-side service and a lengthy menu are necessary to enjoy a tasty meal. Some visitors, in fact, simply sit on their towels——not in a restaurant——to enjoy lunch. Ask your hotel about picnic lunches, as some hotels offer to pack snacks for their guests' day trips. Otherwise, there are plenty of walk-up vendors that offer hot, on-the-go food.

The snack bar here is the ultimate convenience if you need a cold drink, or something to hold you over until dinner. You may also have the option to get lunch from one of the local vendors who typically set up at this spot.

Vacationers can take advantages of picnic tables at this beach, which are perfect for setting up your carry-out food, or just lounging under the sun.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business. Additionally, you will have access to chairs and umbrellas, so visitors hoping for a shaded area to relax will not go leave unhappy. Every member of your family will enjoy the fun environment of Friar's Bay Beach, and even the locals come to the beach to partake in the parties thrown at this beach, as well as to enjoy the delicious cuisine at the oceanfront restaurants.

Friar's Bay Beach is in the Marigot area, so touring the city could be a fun side-trip after visiting the beach. Those visiting Friar's Bay Beach who are hoping to find other opportunities for exploration might want to think about going to Marigot, because it's not far away and is a particularly busy area of St. Martin. From the shore, Marigot is a fairly short distance away, roughly a mile and a half (three kilometers).

You might also enjoy Grande-Case Beach, located only a short distance away. Grand-Case Beach is great combination of a tropical paradise and a place for great dining choices. So after a long day of watersports you donAAAt have to go far to grab a bite to eat. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Happy Bay offers a few more possibilities for excitement, and isn't far from other tourist hot-spots. You'll find it a half mile to the north.

Travelers may also want to consider Baie Rouge, which is close-by and another fun spot in St. Martin. If you want plenty of great views of breathtaking oceanfront scenery, then the Baie Rouge beach is the perfect spot to visit on your next St. Martin vacation.

Of course, St. Martin has hundreds of natural wonders to discover, but Friar's Bay Beach is both a refreshing place to relax, and a beautiful natural attraction.
