A small beach with stunning white sand and crystal clear waters, this is one of the most hidden and secluded beaches on the island, but perhaps not for long. In 2014, it was listed as one of the Best Secret Beaches on Earth by Travel + Leisure Magazine.
Situated in Saint Martin, Happy Bay is on the South edge of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You should consider stopping by even if you are not staying particularly close by. Many of the beaches in St. Martin are quiet and secluded, but the ambiance at Happy Bay is one of both seclusion and activity; this means you can relax without sacrificing a fun and social atmosphere.
This beach is on the northern, quieter end of St. Martin. It requires a 15 minute hike from the road, Rue Happy Bay.
Trees line this private island oasis, providing relief from the bright sunlight. There is not likely to be a crowd here. Nudity is not officially allowed on this beach, but it is tolerated.

Happy Bay visitors looking for some additional excitement might want to think about heading over to Marigot, because it's not far away and is an especially active area of St. Martin. From the shore, Marigot is a quick trip away, roughly two miles (three and a half kilometers).
The number of other people sharing spots in the sand can vary widely, depending on time of day, season, and how full nearby hotel rooms are. This spot is not near many large hotels, but it's sometimes enjoyed by guests from smaller accommodations in the area.

If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Grande-Case Beach, located within a mile or so. Grand-Case Beach is great combination of a tropical paradise and a place for great dining choices. So after a long day of watersports you donAAAt have to go far to grab a bite to eat. More active guests, though, may be interested in Friar's Bay Beach, which offers more action, and is closer to other tourist hot-spots. It's located a half mile to the south.
Vacationers may also want to visit Baie Rouge, which is an additional nearby St. Martin destination. If you want plenty of great views of breathtaking oceanfront scenery, then the Baie Rouge beach is the perfect spot to visit on your next St. Martin vacation.
