Happy Bay

A small beach with stunning white sand and crystal clear waters, this is one of the most hidden and secluded beaches on the island, but perhaps not for long. In 2014, it was listed as one of the Best Secret Beaches on Earth by Travel + Leisure Magazine.

Located on the northern outskirts of Saint Martin, Happy Bay is on the South edge of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You might want to drop by regardless of whether you are staying particularly close by. Vacationers who want a somewhat serene and secluded beach, that's also not too far from the town's amenities may want to give Happy Bay a try. It's not one of the beaches that's always brimming with visitors, but it's not totally devoid of people either.

How to Access The Beach
This beach is on the northern, quieter end of St. Martin. It requires a 15 minute hike from the road, Rue Happy Bay.

Amenities and Ambiance

Trees line this private island oasis, providing relief from the bright sunlight. There is not likely to be a crowd here. Nudity is not officially allowed on this beach, but it is tolerated.

There is also a snack bar here. You may also have the option to buy food from one of the mobile vendors who typically operate along this coastline.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Those who love lounging in the sun will be excited to discover that visitors will have access to lounge chairs at this destination.

Happy Bay with its availability of amenities and services can be found well within a major tourist area. This means that if you think the amenities are an important factor, it'll be an appropriate reason to come earlier in the day before most of the crowds do or perhaps go to a different beach elsewhere. Or you could run the risk of all of the services becoming already claimed by other guests.
