Grand Case is a great destination for yachters thanks to their modern and easy clearance system.  Once you sail into St. Martin's waters, first stopping in Marigot Bay where you'll find the official port of entry, you can complete all of the necessary paperwork on a computer, and simply have a customs officer stamp it when you are done.  On the immigration side of things, everyone needs a passport, even French residents.

If an issue exists and you need to go through a more in depth customs process, you can head to the office at the ferry dock in Marigot.  It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a break from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
