The blowholes is a thin stretch of beach on Grand Cayman's less popular south shore. If you're looking for a beach trip with a more culturally distinct island experience, head to the more urban beaches near George Town.
Located on the island of Grand Cayman, 1.2 miles west of East End, You might want whether or not you're staying very close. There are advantages to visiting a beach that hasn't been "discovered" by thousands of tourists; less popular beaches like The Blowholes let you escape people-watchers and rowdy beachgoers.
This beach is easy to find and access, just steps from Sea View Road, in south central Grand Cayman.
The beach is tan, with seaweed and vegetation sprawled out on the sand. There is no development here and there's likely to be no one around. The water can be fairly rough, so be cautious when swimming.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
If you find that you favor sunny days that offer those who visit a calm place to escape, then you will want to try The Blowholes; it's found in a more rural part of Grand Cayman.
Visitors will find this beach on the East coast of Grand Cayman; the area hosts attractions such as East End Lighthouse Park, which is one of the closest attractions.
If you're interested in mixing culture with your visit to the beach, you should plan a trip to National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. This museum is located 16 and a half miles to the west, giving you a chance to see, and learn about, even more of the area.

Bodden Town is the closest town and is a region with interesting things to do, yet is never overly congested. From the shore, Bodden Town isn't out of reach at nine and a half miles (15 kilometers) away.
The popularity of this spot on any given day can vary, it depends on several things: the season, the weather, even how packed the nearby hotels are. The Blowholes is not located near many major hotels, but it's often visited by visitors staying at smaller lodgings in the area.

If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Cayman Kai, situated only a cab ride away from the coast. The serenity and restful atmosphere of the tranquil Cayman Kai beach provides the perfect setting for your next tropical retreat. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Frank Sound Beach offers a little more opportunity for excitement, and isn't far from additional things to do and see nearby. It's found three miles to the west.
You may also enjoy Gun Bay Beach, located reasonably close-by, so a quick ride in a taxi is an easy option.
There's plenty to see and do in the Cayman Islands, and The Blowholes offers just one way to spend time outdoors.
