Known as one of the most laid back locations in a chain of laid back islands, Great Exuma's beaches follow suit. There are no so-called “party beaches” here, and you'll rarely see more than a few other people at a time as you spend a day by the shore.
You'll discover a large selection of beaches to choose from on the island. Whether you're looking forward to people watching, or you prefer having more of the sand to yourself, you can find what you want. Simply click on the name of the beach for more information concerning that particular location.
Marina Harbour Reef Beach: Situated in between tranquil aquamarine waters and lush mangroves, Marina Harbour Reef Beach is calm and peaceful - a great spot to spend a quiet afternoon.
A second place worth considering is Coco Plum Beach. Named as one of USA Today's top shelling destinations, Coco Palm still remains extremely quiet and peaceful. The water is also generally calm, shielded by rock formations and small islands off the coast, which make for quite the viewing experience in their own right.
Hamburger Beach: In a little cay on Lee Stocking Island is a beach named Hamburger Beach. While no one can be sure exactly why it was named Hamburger beach, many guess it is for the burger stand nearby with some of the best burgers on the island.
