Despite its small size, Green Turtle Cay is a popular destination amongst Bahamas yachters, and there are a number of facilities on the island that cater to them, including the Leeward Yacht Club and Marina, Bluff House Beach Hotel, and the Green Turtle Club. Tourists who sail to these spots will enjoy the thrill of sailing across the sea, then have the option to dock their boat and stay on board, or stay at the luxurious accommodations that this island is known for.

Before you can begin your getaway; however, you will need to visit an official port-of-entry. Fortunately, this island is a port-of-entry, so just make sure you fly your yellow quarantine flag and contact Harbour Control on VHF Channel 16 so someone can meet you at the dock when you arrive. There, everyone on board will have to show their proof of citizenship and fill out an immigration form, as well as present all of the boat's official paperwork. Then, payment for the cruising permit, fishing permit, and departure fee will be required and can range from $150 to $300(USD) depending on the size of the boat. Each additional passenger over four will tack on an extra 15(USD) to the total price. After all of this has been handled, you're free to sail about Green Turtle Cay and the rest of the Bahamas for up to 90 days.
