Fort Frederick was built in the late 1700's by the French after they took the island from the British. While its history may not be particularly unique, the ruins offer a bit of intrigue, and the views from the top are fantastic.
The fort is in ruins and is not maintained. However, it is still possible to explore Fort Frederick, and the area surrounding it. This is fine though, as the main reason people come is to see the view of the harbor from the top.
