Anse de Nogent

Located in a more residential area of Guadeloupe, Abse de Nogent is often free of tourist and is a great option for anyone looking for an alternative that is not as crowded as some of the more popular beaches. However, this seclusion comes at a price; you should not expect to find any amenities or official parking anywhere near the beach.

Located just outside the heart of Plessis Nogent, Anse de Nogent is on the North coast of Basse-Terre. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. The beaches in Guadeloupe aren't usually known for their peace and quiet, but Anse de Nogent is less exposed than the others, making it just the right spot for vacationers who aren't fond of huge throngs of tourists.

How to Access The Beach

Anse de Nogent is easily accessible by car, as it's town is located right off Highway N-2, right at the northern-most point on Western Guadeloupe.

Amenities and Ambiance

Anse de Nogent is a natural beach and does not receive regular maintenance. Still, it is clean, and the sparkling water is on par with the tourist heavy beaches. Swimmers will be able to take a dip in areas of the beach that feature both rough and calm water, as well as areas where the rivers and the ocean meet.

There is also a great restaurant right on-site if you're interested; many find it the perfect, convenient solution for lunch. There are so many unique restaurants in Guadeloupe, but not every meal needs to be eaten in a formal setting. Some visitors, in fact, like having lunch very close-by. Sometimes, hotels offer to pack up on-the-go lunches for their guests. Or, on your way to the beach you could grab some carry-out from a casual dining spot.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here. Fortunately, the water here is clear and good for snorkeling, so grab some gear if you're looking to see what goes on beneath the surface.

If you usually prefer coasts which provide a relaxing place to escape, then think about trying out Anse de Nogent; it is tucked away within a more rural area of Basse-Terre.
