Anse Fontaine

It is not often that you can find a beach that is secluded, easily reached, and a prime example of a tropical beach of paradise; however, Anse Fontaine is just that. For those willing to make a little journey, the beach offers shimmering sands, clear water, and a calm, private cove. That's it though, so be sure to bring everything you need, as you will not find many amenities anywhere nearby.

Located on the northwestern side of the island of Grande-Terre, 1.3 miles west-southwest of Anse-Bertrand, You should consider dropping by whether or not you are staying in the vicinity. Travelers in search of a tranquil, secluded setting should venture a little farther from the city, and a little closer to Anse Fontaine.

How to Access The Beach
As stated, for all that the beach offers in beauty and privacy, it also happens to be relatively easy to reach. Not too far from the town of Anse Bertrand, travelers leaving that area can simply take the coastal road west, which will take them past several beaches, including Anse Fontiane. The road is dirt, and can be a little ill-maintained at times, so a vehicle capable of a little off-roading can be a good thing.

Amenities and Ambiance

As a small inlet, Anse Fontaine is protected from the rough waters that batter the coast directly adjacent to the beach. This creates a great opportunity for safe swimming while the soft sand and privacy makes it great for sunbathing and a nap.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. You will find the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you're hoping to see what lies beneath the surface.

If you like beach days which offer visitors a relaxing environment, then you will want to try Anse Fontaine; it's hidden away within a much quieter part of the region.
