Anse Kanouanne

More natural coast than beach, Anse Kanouanne is just one of a string of beaches that make up the southern coast of Guadeloupe's Southeast Point. With clear water and relatively free of waves, this area is a top snorkeling destination on the island.

Positioned on the eastern side of the island of Grande-Terre, 2.0 miles east of downtown St. Francois, You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying nearby. Anse Kanouanne is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Most other beaches in Guadeloupe offer views of the sea that are just as pretty, but are usually busier since they're found in the most popular parts of town.

How to Access The Beach
Visitors to the beach will need to take Highway D-118, the main road of the Southeast Point. While the specific beach access road is unmarked, the string of beaches are accessible by any of the dirt roads off to right to the south of D-118.

Amenities and Ambiance

Anse Kanouanne is a small beach, really not much more than a strip of sand. However, its remoteness and wall of trees give it near absolute privacy from the world outside, making a prime beach for those looking to get away.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. The water in the area is of good snorkeling quality, so bring your gear if you're hoping to see what lies beneath the surface.

Anse Kanouanne offers visitors an angelic and serene enclave, in part because the region surrounding the beach is positioned apart from more urban areas.
