Anse Kanouanne

More natural coast than beach, Anse Kanouanne is just one of a string of beaches that make up the southern coast of Guadeloupe's Southeast Point. With clear water and relatively free of waves, this area is a top snorkeling destination on the island.

Located on the eastern coast of the island of Grande-Terre, 2.0 miles east of downtown St. Francois, You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying nearby. Do you dream of finding a beach tucked into an untouched part of town? Many visitors seek a beach that isn't surrounded by thousands of hotel rooms; relatively untouched parts of the coast like Anse Kanouanne are perfect when you need a break from the typical tourist scene.

How to Access The Beach
Visitors to the beach will need to take Highway D-118, the main road of the Southeast Point. While the specific beach access road is unmarked, the string of beaches are accessible by any of the dirt roads off to right to the south of D-118.

Amenities and Ambiance

Anse Kanouanne is a small beach, really not much more than a strip of sand. However, its remoteness and wall of trees give it near absolute privacy from the world outside, making a prime beach for those looking to get away.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Fortunately, the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so bring your gear if you want to check out what lies beneath the surface.

Anse Kanouanne offers visitors a calm and serene enclave, especially since the area surrounding the beach is away from most urbanization.
