The only beach on this small island, La Coche is the perfect landing site for anyone wanting to explore this cliff-populated island. Otherwise, the beach itself is a wonderful place to simply getaway from civilization and take a long nap.
Situated on the island of La Coche, 2.5 miles south west of Terre-de-Haut, this beach is nicely positioned on the coast. You might want to drop by regardless of whether you are staying in the vicinity. It's often said that La Coche is one of the best spots for escaping the typical tourist haunts. Most other beaches in Guadeloupe may have the same pleasing, tropical setting as La Coche, but are usually more crowded because they border some of the area's most popular resorts.
The beach, and La Coche island is free of development, and the island's forest is naturally maintained. Thus, while there is a clear distinction between the forest and the beach, you can expect some vegetation to be growing on the sand. Other than that, there will not be much else. If you decide to explore, just be careful of the abrupt cliffs located throughout the island.
