Plage des Amandiers

Aptly named, this beach is unique because of the almond trees along the shore. The coast is wild and rugged, with dangerous swimming conditions, but a little picnic table makes it a great place to stop and have a snack or a meal while you enjoy the scenery.

Located in the eastern part of Plessis Nogent, Plage des Amandiers is on the North edge of Basse-Terre. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Plage des Amandiers stands out because it's one of the best spots for getting away from vacation stresses, like overly crowded restaurants and attractions. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in Guadeloupe offer views of the sea that are just as pretty, but are usually more cramped since they're located by some of the most popular tourist areas in town.

Amenities and Ambiance

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.

If you find that you choose shores which offer visitors a serene haven, then you may want to try Plage des Amandiers; it is located within a more natural sector of Basse-Terre.
