12 | Guanica Lighthouse
A historic lighthouse located in the Guanica State Forest, the Guanica Lighthouse was first lit in 1893, and served until 1950. The historical significance of this site comes from the tale of lighthouse keeper Robustiano Rivera, who, in July of 1898, spotted the American forces as they were lading on the island during the Spanish-American war, and was able to warn local residents.
This lighthouse is located on Route 333, and is one and a quarter miles (a kilometer and a half) to the west of Cana Gorda Beach.

The wide arching beach provides a great opportunity for sun bathing and fun in the sun, while the buoyed off swimming area offers a safe place for people of all ages to enjoy the water.
This beach is situated less than a hundred yards (less than a hundred meters) from Manglillos Beach.

Lined with resorts, Playa Santa is broken up into several sections of beach belonging to the hotel behind it. There is also a section of public beach where locals come to play.

Interested visitors will be able to find this beach just 0.5 miles (0.8 km) east-southeast of Ballena Beach.
