12 | Guanica Lighthouse

A historic lighthouse located in the Guanica State Forest, the Guanica Lighthouse was first lit in 1893, and served until 1950. The historical significance of this site comes from the tale of lighthouse keeper Robustiano Rivera, who, in July of 1898, spotted the American forces as they were lading on the island during the Spanish-American war, and was able to warn local residents.

This lighthouse is located on Route 333, and is one and a quarter miles (a kilometer and a half) to the west of Cana Gorda Beach.

Designated by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve, Bosque Estatal de Guanica is a popular destination for nature seeking tourist and those looking for the most pristine beaches on the island.

15 | Manglillos Beach

Located on the south coast of Puerto Rico, Manglillo Beach is part of the Dry Forest Reserve. The calm waters and beautiful surroundings make it a favorite amongst both locals and tourists, especially on weekends.

This beach is located three miles (four and a half kilometers) to the south west of Parador Guanica 1929.

16 | Rosado Beach

Located plenty away from the big Puerto Rican cities, Rosado Beach is still located in a small community that creates a nice mix of remoteness and convenience. The wide arching beach provides a great opportunity for sun bathing and fun in the sun, while the buoyed off swimming area offers a safe place for people of all ages to enjoy the water.

This beach is situated less than a hundred yards (less than a hundred meters) from Manglillos Beach.

18 | Playa Santa

Lined with resorts, Playa Santa is broken up into several sections of beach belonging to the hotel behind it. There is also a section of public beach where locals come to play.

Travel south for three miles (five kilometers) from Parador Guanica 1929 to get to this beach.

Due to its representation of biodiversity, Ballena Beach is a designated UNESCO biosphere reserve. Instead of visiting this beach to swim and frolic in the sea, most vacationers head this way to view the beautiful isolated surroundings that is known for being prime nesting grounds for many species of bird, turtles, and toads.

Parador Guanica 1929 is five miles (eight kilometers) to the west of this beach.

Tucked away in one of the most remote areas of Puerto Rico, Tamarindo Beach offers enclave to evey nature lover and eco-tourist.

Interested visitors will be able to find this beach just 0.5 miles (0.8 km) east-southeast of Ballena Beach.
