Bermuda National Gallery

This gallery is where there the national art collection is held, with many of the most important pieces of Bermudan artwork on display, as well as works from around the world. Mediums include paintings, photography, sculpture, and even cultural masks. Additionally, the Bermuda National Gallery in conjunction with the City Hall Arts Centre hosts numerous classes and programs for children throughout the year.

Offerings

Watlington Collection

The Watlington Collection is the core permanent exhibit, and features some of the European masters from between 1500 and 1850. These include Gainsborough, Reynolds, and Murillo.

African Collection

On display in the African Collection are figurines, masks, and royal artifacts.

Contemporary Collection

All works in the Contemporary Collection were completed in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Photography Collection

The Photography Collection features a selection of black and white photos by Bermudian photo journalist Richard Saunders.

Print Collection

The Print Collection is comprised of touching paintings.

Outdoor amusements like working on one's golf game and taking to the water are also enjoyed by many and are within close proximity. Tourists with an interest in showing their skillfulness at the green, might want to do so at the most convenient golfing opportunity, which is Belmont Hills Golf Club. Long hours can also be enjoyed at Grape Bay Beach, the closest beach. However, while these options may be the easiest to get to, you will still find several equally enjoyable opportunities in the sun. Guests will also find a fair number of other interesting places to get away from the sun within a reasonable distance. There are two additional places of interest nearby -Specialty Cinema & Grill and Victoria Park- which are both found rather close to Bermuda National Gallery.

Operating Hours

The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
