Mahogany Bay

Mahogany Bay Beach provides visitors with calm waters with little undertow, making for a great swimming and snorkeling spot for the entire family. Beautiful white sand provides great suntanning areas and smaller pools are perfect for wading.

Located in Holders Hill, Mahogany Bay is on the South West coast of Barbados. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. If hustle and bustle isn't your style, you'll appreciate that the majority of beaches in Barbados are known for their privacy and seclusion. Then again, if you'd rather not visit an empty, untouched part of the coast, you're probably better off visiting Mahogany Bay, one of the few beaches that draws a significant crowd.

How to Access The Beach
The beach is accessible to both pedestrians and vehicles. Parking is available on the opposite side of the fish market off of Highway 1.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach is situated on the west coast of the island and benefits from its calm waters. To the south of the beach are a series of restaurants and bars, most notable The Cliff, while the Paynes Bay Beach lies to the north. Large tropical trees provide excellent shade, while the soft white sand makes for excellent sunbathing spots.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.

The beach is wonderful, but the surrounding area has a lot to offer, too. Look for it on Barbados' South West coast; it's located near attractions like Sandy Lane Old Nine Golf Course, which is pretty close, so some will want to take a cab, while others will find it a nice walk.

If you want to learn more about the history of Barbados, you won't have to look hard to find sites boasting the colorful history of the nation. For instance, nearby is St. James Church, which is not a great distance from the shore, and is accessible in a taxi or on foot.
