Mahogany Bay Beach provides visitors with calm waters with little undertow, making for a great swimming and snorkeling spot for the entire family. Beautiful white sand provides great suntanning areas and smaller pools are perfect for wading.
Located in Durants, Mahogany Bay is on the South West coast of Barbados. You might think about stopping by whether or not you are staying in the vicinity. Those visitors who find secluded beaches too calm and inactive will likely enjoy the atmosphere at Mahogany Bay.
The beach is accessible to both pedestrians and vehicles. Parking is available on the opposite side of the fish market off of Highway 1.
The beach is situated on the west coast of the island and benefits from its calm waters. To the south of the beach are a series of restaurants and bars, most notable The Cliff, while the Paynes Bay Beach lies to the north. Large tropical trees provide excellent shade, while the soft white sand makes for excellent sunbathing spots.
Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.
Since Mahogany Bay is of course located inside a major tourist area, you'll want to plan accordingly.
