Humacao is unique in the way that it caters to tourists from all walks of life. Not only is this town home to Palmas del Mar, one of the most luxurious resort communities on the island, but it also features an important wildlife refuge and one of its two small islands is inhabited by islands that once took part in scientific experiments. Visitors can choose which path they'd like to take and which attraction they'd like to see, then meet up at night in one of the casinos – which seems to be one thing that no matter what their style, tourists can't seem to resist.
There are several beaches to choose from in and around the area. Just click on each beach name to get additional information about that beach.
Humacao Beach: Humacao Beach can be found at the end of a long dirt road, off PR-923 just south of the air strip serving Humacao. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
Another place for beach-goers to consider is Morillo Beach. Morillo Beach is located on the east coast of Puerto Rico, in a heavily populated part of town. While this may lend itself to busy weekends, many would agree that the opportunity to enjoy the calm, cool Caribbean Sea on this beach is worth braving the crowds.
Playa Punta Santiago: Playa Punta Santiago is located in Humacao on the main island of Puerto Rico. It is a government run beach that in its hay day was a beauty.
