Many people are quick to recommend a trip to the beaches of Palmas del Mar to those are staying in Humacao during their Puerto Rico getaway, but there are plenty of other options to consider that are equally as pleasurable.  The beaches of this area feature calm surf great for swimming and snorkeling plus picturesque vistas that make bringing a camera necessary.

Pick Your Ideal Beach

You'll find a large selection of beaches to consider in and around the area. For detailed information about any one of these beaches you can click on the names of the ones you're intrigued by.

Humacao Beach

Playa Punta Santiago: This beach is unique in that it features both white and black sands; the white comes from washed up coral, and the black is volcanic matter. Meanwhile, the waters that wash ashore are aquamarine, making the color wheel of Playa Punta Santiago something to behold.

Another place to consider is Puerto Yabucoa. With the area known for the rich and fertile soil, you can bet that Puerto Yabucoa is a beach shrouded by a wall of trees (much like the rest of the region). This helps give the beach a much more natural feel than it really is; located just steps from from homes, baseball fields, and other marks of civilization.

Naguabo Beach: To get to Naguabo Beach, take PR 3 to Calle Marina, and follow the road, which is a circle, around to the south coast where you can exit on to the beach.
