Humacao Beach is a quiet stretch of sand where visitors can escape for a little piece of paradise.
Located 3.6 miles east-southeast of Humacao, Humacao Beach is on the East edge of Puerto Rico. You should think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying very close. This beach is not just beautiful, it's one of the rare "quiet" beaches in Puerto Rico. While Humacao Beach may be a little farther away, it provides a rare chance to escape crowds of tourists.
Humacao Beach can be found at the end of a long dirt road, off PR-923 just south of the air strip serving Humacao. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
Backed by coconut palms and a small fresh water pool, Humacao has soft tan sand and green waters.
Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.
If you find that you enjoy coasts that offer a tranquil place to escape, then you may want to try Humacao Beach; it is back within a less urbanized part of the region.
Not far away you'll find Palmas Del Mar, a town which is in an area with plenty of worthwhile sites, while still remaining less developed and congested as some other places. From the beach, Palmas Del Mar is not far away, about three miles (five kilometers).
Whether this spot is full of bodies or practically empty will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels.
You won't find any of Puerto Rico's large resorts alongside this beach, but if you're trying to dodge masses of tourists, the shortage of places to stay should be a pleasant sight.
A hot day at the beach will have you craving more than just a cocktail; no beach day is complete until you eat at a nearby restaurant, where you'll be able to try foods you've never heard of before, without having to go far. One of the nearest places to eat is Paseo Playero Restaurant. This restaurant has a menu featuring Creole food. Visitors often rave about their seafood.
