Humacao Wildlife Refuge

Recently refurbished and renamed, the Humanco Wildlife Refuge is popular amongst birders.

Hiking and biking trails, picnic pavilions, sugar plantations ruins, and war bunkers are all present at the refuge.


Located in the vicinity of Humacao, Humacao Wildlife Refuge welcomes local customers and travelers rooming in this part of Puerto Rico. Regardless of whether or not you are staying very close, you are free to stop by to enjoy a great time. It is east of Humacao.

The Humacao Wildlife Refuge is located just south of Punto Santiago Beach on Route 3. The entrance is marked with a sign,and you can pull your car right in and park for free.

Nearby Restaurants

Guests visiting this wildlife reserve will have no problem finding a meal, since you'll find a wide variety of lunch and dinner options in the general vicinity. Paseo Playero Restaurant, which serves Creole food, offers convenient access to this wildlife reservation. Paseo Playero Restaurant is a slight distance away, but distant enough that you may want to arrange for taking advantage of a means of transport to travel there. Also within reach, you'll find restaurants such as Subway Coconut Grove and El Limón where you and your group should eat some Mexican meals and experience the flavors of Puerto Rico.

You'll find a couple other attractions nearby, including La Mina Falls, which is within taxi range away near Luquillo. Also consider visiting Parque Felipe Diaz Torres, which is another nearby attraction.
