Farquharson Beach

Set near a western tip of the island, Farquharson Beach is just the spot for those looking for an out-of-the-way beach that is both picturesque and uncrowded.

Situated on the island of Inagua, 10.5 miles north of Matthew Town, You should consider dropping by whether or not you're staying very close. Farquharson Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's perfect for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Most other beaches you'll come across in the Bahamas may be just as pretty, but are usually more crowded because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.

Amenities and Ambiance

This beach is of smooth, white sands right along the shore, but has a few dunes where the tide doesn't reach. The vibrant blues of the water invite visitors in, but sunbathing is actually the most popular activity here.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.

Farquharson Beach provides an angelic and peaceful place to escape, as the area surrounding the beach won't be overly crowded.

What's Nearby

The number of other vacationers sharing this coastline can vary widely, depending on time of day, season, and how many of the nearby hotel rooms have been booked.

You won't find any of The Bahamas' popular resorts close to this beach, though if you're trying to dodge throngs of tourists, the lack of accommodation options will be a pleasant sight.

You might not run into any places to grab a bit to eat right on this coast, so you may choose to plan a picnic for your time spent at the beach.

Other Beaches

Of course, there are more fantastic beaches besides Farquharson Beach on Inagua.

The Bahamas has a lot to offer its visitors, but Farquharson Beach is both a beautiful natural attraction, and a fun hangout spot.
