Farquharson Beach

Set near a western tip of the island, Farquharson Beach is just the spot for those looking for an out-of-the-way beach that is both picturesque and uncrowded.

Located on the island of Inagua, 10.5 miles north of Matthew Town, You might want to drop by whether or not you are staying nearby. It's often said that Farquharson Beach is one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in the Bahamas may have the same pleasing, tropical setting as Farquharson Beach, but tend to be busier since they're found in the most popular parts of town.

Amenities and Ambiance

This beach is of smooth, white sands right along the shore, but has a few dunes where the tide doesn't reach. The vibrant blues of the water invite visitors in, but sunbathing is actually the most popular activity here.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

Farquharson Beach provides a calm and tranquil retreat, in part because the surrounding region contains little build-up and is free of urbanization.
