Attractions in Isla Verde

An affluent town which houses the island's major international airport, Isla Verde attracts tourists thanks to its convenient location and descent beaches.  Many people who stay in town will find it easy to make trips over to Old San Juan and many of the surrounding towns in order to take advantage of the immense cultural and natural attractions, but for shopping and nightlife, this spot can't be beat. 


Carolina Beach

There are several beaches to consider in and around the area. Just click on the name of the beach for detailed information about that part of the coast.

Ocean Park: Located between Condado and Isle Verde Beaches, Ocean Park is a wide expanse of golden sand fronting the turquoise Caribbean. The area is lined with hotels, resorts, and condos as well as a number of sports complexes.

Another place to consider is Carolina Beach. Carolina Beach is located immediately north of Luis Munoz Marin International Airport along Route 187. Paved parking is available for a $4 fee.

Isla Verde Beach: Relax on the sandy shores on a quiet day, or party with friends on weekends when things get more lively. There's plenty to do in the water from parasailing to waterskiing.

Landmark Attractions

Museo de arte de Puerto Rico

Museo de arte de Puerto Rico is a museum on the outskirts of Isla Verde. Spanning 130,000 square feet, the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico has worked towards providing the Puerto Rican public with access to contemporary artwork since 2000. There is a permanent collection of Puerto Rican and Latin art from the 16th century to present, plus a number of educational programs that are available to educate the public and raise awareness about the world of visual arts.

Another landmark that often intrigues visitors is Museum of History, Anthropology and Art. It is a part of University Of Puerto Rico San Juan and located within Rio Piedras, 2.9 mi. South West of central Isla Verde. This small museum is actually just part of the full museum, which is closed to the public. The rotating exhibits that the museum does offer, however, is diverse, high quality, and sure to be a hit by any history buff.

Museum Of Art Of Puerto Rico: The collection of artwork begins with works created in the 17th century and continue on through to the works of today. Mediums run the gamut, including print work, photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, and new media.

Natural Attractions

Bosque Estatal De Piñones

One of the more popular outdoor tourist attractions is Bosque Estatal De Piñones. The park contains a boardwalk that stretches through a dense collection of mangroves. This vital ecosystem to Puerto Rico is home to a number of wildlife that cannot survive in other habits.
