Attractions in Isla Verde

An affluent town which houses the island's major international airport, Isla Verde attracts tourists thanks to its convenient location and descent beaches.  Many people who stay in town will find it easy to make trips over to Old San Juan and many of the surrounding towns in order to take advantage of the immense cultural and natural attractions, but for shopping and nightlife, this spot can't be beat. 

Beaches

Carolina Beach

You'll discover a large number of beaches to consider visiting in and around the area. Click on each beach name for more detail concerning that part of the coast.

Ocean Park: People-watching is the most prominent activiity at Ocean Park, which is filled mostly with gay and straight single adults. Water sports and facilities are available at the beachfront resorts for a fee.

Attractions Map

A second option that beach-goers can consider is Carolina Beach. Set between Isla Verde and Piones is Carolina Beach, or Balneario Carolina in Spanish. Carolina Beach is actually not one, but a series of three beaches that stretch across the north coast of Puerto Rico.

Isla Verde Beach: This stretch of beaches is located off Avenida Isla Verde.

Landmark Attractions

Museo de arte de Puerto Rico

One popular destination is Museum of History, Anthropology and Art. It is found within University Of Puerto Rico San Juan and located within Rio Piedras, 2.9 mi. South West of central Isla Verde. The exhibits can vary greatly, from skeletons and mummies, to artifacts, pictures, and paintings. It is tough to say exactly what you will see when you go as the university constantly changes what is on display.

Another interesting landmark worth visiting is Museum Of Art Of Puerto Rico. It is located in Condado District, 3.1 mi. West of central Isla Verde. The collection of artwork begins with works created in the 17th century and continue on through to the works of today. Mediums run the gamut, including print work, photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, and new media.

Natural Attractions

Bosque Estatal De Piñones

Visitors who enjoy being outside will probably enjoy Bosque Estatal De Piñones. The park contains a boardwalk that stretches through a dense collection of mangroves. This vital ecosystem to Puerto Rico is home to a number of wildlife that cannot survive in other habits.
