Natural Attractions in Isla Verde

In truth, Isla Verde is a busy city with little to recommend it for eco-tourists. While there is easy access to coastal lands and parks, the best option for those who want to stay in the Isla Verde area is to plan to make some trips outside of the city.

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Bosque Estatal De Piñones

Do you want to spend time seeing the local flaura and fauna? You might be happy to learn the area has a popular nature preserve nearby.

Bosque Estatal De Piñones is a nature preserve located in Pinones, 3.9 mi. East of central Isla Verde. The six-mile boardwalk through the mangroves is a perfect chance to get outdoors and experience some of the more natural features of Puerto Rico. While you will be in some of the most natural and muddy spots on the island, the boardwalk luckily will keep you clean and your feet dry.

Waterfalls

La Coca Falls

Even though most people visiting the area are attracted by the beautiful water and coastline, those aren't the only way to experience the area's natural beauty. The one example is La Coca Falls. It is found 14.1 mi. Southeast of central Isla Verde.
This tremendous waterfall is one of the many wonders located in El Yunque National Park, though luckily, is not too far into the forest. Offering breathtaking views, this waterfall also allows visitors to climb up close to it and really feel the thundering force.
