Because it is a commercial port, it is very busy, but many people think it is worth dealing with this thanks to the otherwise easy conditions.

The nearest port of entry to Isla Verde is in San Juan, which means tourists won't have far to travel once they've gained clearance to reach their final destination. Customs is open from 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, when they will go over your paperwork, inspect your ship's stores, and collect your payment of between $25 and $37(USD) for your 12 month cruising permit. This customs office also requests that you let them know at least 24 hours in advance that you are on the way, which you can do by calling 787-729-6850 or 787-729-6802 during business hours.
After clearing your boat and completing all of the entry requirements with immigration, you can sail t to your final destination. There are two options directly in Isla Verde, but docking in San Juan continues to be an option as well.
