Along a rocky stretch of sand on the southern coast of Jamaica sits the beautiful Billy Bay. It is one of five Bays located in the fishing village of Treasure Beach. Aside from local fisherman who set sail from the bay each morning, Billy Bay is often empty; a quiet, secluded spot for visitors to enjoy the serenity of being alone on a Jamaican beach.
Set in Saint Elizabeth Parish, 1.8 miles west-northwest of downtown Treasure Beach, Billy Bay is on the South West coast of Jamaica. You should think about stopping by even if you are not staying in the vicinity. Jamaica's beaches are pretty busy for the most part, but Billy Bay is less exposed than the others, making it just the right spot for vacationers who'd like a less hectic scene, but one that's not completely empty.
The shore of Billy Bay feature white to grey sands that are speckled with rocks and shells. Larger rocks line the edge of the beach, and sometimes make an appearance under water. The waters themselves are aquamarine and the waves are just strong enough to encourage a bit of body surfing.
Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
Found on Jamaica's South West coast; the area is home to other attractions such as Lover's Leap Lighthouse, which is within the range of a cab.
If you're interested in mixing a cultural experience with your visit to the beach, you should plan a trip to Jamaica Fun Farm, a lovely museum found within cab range, giving you a chance to see, and learn about, even more of the area.

Billy Bay isn't the only beach worth checking out in Jamaica.
Another option worth considering is Treasure Beach, which is located not a great distance away, which means a short cab ride will get you here pretty easily.
Of course, there is much more to do besides lounge on the sand in Jamaica, but Billy Bay is both a refreshing place to relax, and a beautiful natural attraction.
