Frenchmen's Cove Beach

Frenchmen's Cove Beach history of celebrity connections is what initially attracts people to the beach, but it is the natural beauty that convinces them to stay. Just a few dollars gets you in for the day.

The sands and waters make it one of the prettiest on the island with a freshwater river that flows into the cove.

Positioned in Portland Parish, 2.2 miles west-northwest of Fairy Hill, Frenchmen's Cove Beach is on the East coast of Jamaica. You should think about stopping by even if you are not staying in the vicinity. Frenchmen's Cove Beach stands out from other beaches because it's perfect for getting away from vacation stresses, like overly crowded restaurants and attractions. Other nearby beaches in Jamaica may have the same warm sand and calming breezes as Frenchmen's Cove Beach, but are usually busier since they're right in the thick of tourists' favorite hangouts.

Amenities and Ambiance

The soft white sands and crystal clear waters make Frenchmen's Cove Beach one of the prettiest on the island. Surrounded by tropical scenery and fed by a freshwater river, Frenchmen's Cove is also both quiet and secluded.

Of course, there is also a restaurant located right on-site. Jamaica offers plenty of great places to eat, but not all your meals have to be in a sit-down restaurant. Some visitors, in fact, like having lunch very close-by. Did you know that many hotels are able to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, you could easily grab some of Jamaica's famous street food along the way.

The concession stand located here is another lunchtime alternative. On some days, it may be possible to buy some food from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.

Yes, there are public restrooms at Frenchmen's Cove Beach. You'll appreciate that showers are available, so you can rinse off before heading back to your hotel. Visitors and locals flock to this very popular beach. While the entrance fee scares some people away, the private setting of the beach adds a touch of sophistication.
