There are plenty of advantages to visiting a beach that isn't surrounded by thousands of hotel rooms; less popular beaches like Palmetto Bay allow you much more room to spread out and feel comfortable.
If you're looking for seclusion and serenity, this beach is the spot. It's also convenient, close to restaurants and accommodations but distant enough to forget about reality for a little while. Jump in, the waters are warm.
Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.
Palmetto Bay offers visitors a calm and serene getaway, due to the fact that the surrounding area won't be overly crowded.
The beach is wonderful, but the surrounding area has a lot to offer, too. Look for it on Jamaica's East coast. It is near some interesting sites like Brimmer Hall Estate, which is situated 13 and a half miles away, and it is one of a number of favorite destinations in the area.
If you want to mix a cultural experience with your visit to the beach, you may want to consider visiting Bob Marley Museum. This museum is located some ways off, but, if you've got a car, it's not a bad trip away, and might make a nice break from the midday sun.

The nearest region of Jamaica to Palmetto Bay is. This interesting part of Jamaica is just a mile and a half from the shore, meaning it shouldn't take too long to make a visit. It should be noted that Hart Hill is a fairly rural area, but it will be a pleasant day trip for visitors looking to check out the local scene.
How many other people you encounter at Palmetto Bay will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels. There aren't many major hotels nearby, but you may meet visitors from some of the area's smaller options.
You might not find any places to eat surrounding this coast, so you might want to pack a lunch if you want to fully enjoy your time spent at the beach.
Of course, there are lots of other spots along the coast of Jamaica, so perhaps you can explore more than one.
Another location you might enjoy is Buff Bay, found a quick car or cab ride away. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Windsor Castle Beach could provide a few more possibilities for excitement, and is closer to other popular destinations. It's located a mile and a half to the east-southeast.
