On one side of A4 in this part of Portland, miles and miles of thick green forestry can be seen, while directly on the other you will find Rural Hill Beach. As the name suggests, the beach is in a rural area, making it relatively unknown by most tourists.
Set near the heart of Portland Parish, 2.3 miles north of Long Road, Rural Hill Beach is on the East coast of Jamaica. You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying nearby. For a change from the usual crowded beach spots, you should check out Rural Hill Beach, a pretty, but less popular part of the coast.
A4 runs right along Rural Hill Beach, visitors can just exit the road and park in the sand.
Rural Hill Beach is a small plot of white, fluffy sound, with large water beaten rocks lining the shore right where tide typically comes in.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear enough for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you want to see the underwater world.
A lesser known beach, Rural Hill Beach and its available amenities and services will likely be a good choice for anyone wishing to escape from the crowds, since it is found in a laid-back area. As such, failing to acquire an open service at the beach is something that you will not have to go through very often, in spite of if it is the most popular time to visit.
This beach is positioned on Jamaica's East coast. It is close to Old Pera Windmill, which is located 13 miles away, and it is one of a number of popular spots in the area.

The closest section of Jamaica to this beach is. This destination is only a half mile from the beach, so it is a good option even if you are somewhat strapped for time. Rural Hill is a neat region that strikes a balance between island tranquility and urbanization.
The mood here——social and lively, or virtually empty—— will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels. There aren't many major hotels in the immediate vicinity, but it's often visited by guests from some of the smaller accommodations in the area.
Although this coastal destination is not exactly the area's culinary epicenter, you can still find some interesting eateries, especially if you are willing to venture a little farther away.is one of the closest eateries, which is a delicious choice during or after a day at the beach.

If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Fairy Hill Beach, found only a cab ride away from the coast. Fairy Hill Beach attracts locals and visitors alike to its energetic shores. During the week crowds are at a minimum and snorkeling is fantastic at the small off shore reef, but bring your own equipment. A small eatery serves vegetarian and Jamaican jerk dishes for a nice afternoon snack. If you're on the lookout for more active and social, you might enjoy people watching at Winnifred Beach. It's located nine and a half miles to the northwest.
You may also want to consider Innis Bay Beach, which is located within a short distance.
Maybe Rural Hill Beach is a perfect spot for you to kick back, and at the same time perhaps not the the ideal fit; in which case there are other beaches (and other outdoor attractions) worth trying.
