Sandy Bay

Sandy Bay is located on Jamaica's western coast, in a town known for its abundance of churches rather than beaches. Still, the beach is a beautiful one, and though it is located off one of the island's main roads, it remains a quiet and calm place to plan a day.

Positioned in Hanover Parish, 0.5 miles northeast of Sandy Bay, this beach is on the North West edge of Jamaica. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. While there are certainly more secluded beaches in Jamaica than Sandy Bay, it has just the right amount of private-feel to attract visitors who need a place to relax.

How to Access The Beach
Sandy Bay is located directly off Norman Manley Boulevard. Simply exit the road, park on the grass, and head to the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

Sandy Bay is a small little swatch of land featuring dark tan sand and mesmerizing blue green waters.

The concession stand located here is another lunchtime alternative.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Happily, the off-shore waters are fit for snorkeling, so bring along some equipment if you want to see the underwater world.
