Sandy Ground

On the quieter side of a little bay, Sandy Ground beach boasts soft, tan sand and waters that are calmed from the shape of the bay.

Located in Saint Elizabeth Parish, 1.9 miles south-southeast of New Hope, Sandy Ground is on the West coast of Jamaica. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Sandy Ground is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's one of the best spots for escaping the hustle of Jamaica's urban areas. Other nearby beaches in Jamaica offer views of the sea that are just as pretty, but are usually more cramped because they're lined with some of the most famous hotels and restaurants.

Amenities and Ambiance

This beach rests in a cove on Jamaica's western edge. A rocky cape to the South makes for interesting beach walks and great views of the water.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. Happily, the off-shore waters are of good snorkeling quality, so bring your gear if you've been hoping to get in some underwater exploration.

If you find that you go for shores which offer those who visit a quiet haven, then maybe head on over to Sandy Ground; it's tucked away within a less urbanized part of the region.
