Yerba Buena Beach

The sand is dark and the water may at times be tumultuous here, but this beach provides a beautiful view of the Caribbean behind a rocky cliff and there's a nearby hiking trail.

Located toward the center of Saint Mary Parish, 1.4 miles north of Robins Bay, Yerba Buena Beach is on the North East edge of Jamaica. You might want regardless of whether you're staying in the immediate vicinity. Yerba Buena Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Many of the other beaches you'll come across in Jamaica may have the same pleasing, tropical setting as Yerba Buena Beach, but are usually more crowded since they're right in the thick of tourists' favorite hangouts.

Amenities and Ambiance

Relatively isolated and with soft sand, you might enjoy a few hours of meandering and beach combing here, with a long walk down the adjacent trail or maybe a picnic lunch. A few accommodations exist nearby but there's no adjacent town.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. You will find the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so bring along some gear if you're hoping to find some interesting marine life.

Yerba Buena Beach offers visitors a calm and relaxing environment, in part because the region surrounding the beach is far from urbanized.
