The sand is dark and the water may at times be tumultuous here, but this beach provides a beautiful view of the Caribbean behind a rocky cliff and there's a nearby hiking trail.
Positioned toward the center of Saint Mary Parish, 1.4 miles north of Robins Bay, Yerba Buena Beach is on the North East edge of Jamaica. You might want to drop by whether or not you are staying very close. There are plenty of advantages to visiting a beach that isn't lined with high-rise hotels; beaches less-traveled like Yerba Buena Beach make great places to spread out and relax.
Relatively isolated and with soft sand, you might enjoy a few hours of meandering and beach combing here, with a long walk down the adjacent trail or maybe a picnic lunch. A few accommodations exist nearby but there's no adjacent town.
Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. You'll find the waters off-shore to be fit for snorkeling, so bring along some equipment if you're looking to see what goes on beneath the surface.

The closest part in Jamaica to Yerba Buena Beach is. This location is just a mile and a half from the beach, which means it shouldn't take too long to make a visit. Robins Bay is not an overly urbanized area, but still has its fair share of things to do.
The number of other people sharing spots in the sand can vary widely, it depends on many factors: the time of sundown, happy hour, even how many people have booked rooms nearby. There are not many major hotels nearby, but it's sometimes enjoyed by guests from the few small lodgings in the area.

Yerba Buena Beach isn't the only beach worth checking out in Jamaica.
Travelers who like this beach might also enjoy Port Maria Beach, located a quick car or cab ride away. Others might prefer Golden Grove Beach, which could provide a little more opportunity for excitement, and isn't far from nearby attractions. It's found seven miles to the southeast.
Another location you may want to try is Annotto Bay, which is located reasonably close-by, which means a quick cab ride will get you here pretty easily.
