Zion Hill Beach

A crescent shaped patch of sand in the middle of a small round bay, this beach offers protected and warm waters for swimming and a clear ocean floor.

Located just outside the heart of Portland Parish, 0.9 miles east-southeast of Fairy Hill, Zion Hill Beach is on the East edge of Jamaica. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. A surprisingly wide range of visitors end up loving Zion Hill Beach; it's not too far off the beaten path, plus it's usually not over-crowded. If you prefer to avoid Jamaica's quiet, secluded beaches, but don't want to fight the crowds every step of the way, this beach might be the perfect spot to spend a few hours.

Amenities and Ambiance

Enjoy an isolated locale here at Zion Hill. No buildings flank this beach, just brush, trees and a rocky cape on one edge.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. The water here is of good snorkeling quality, so bring your equipment if you want to see what lies beneath the surface.

Zion Hill Beach offers those who visit a quiet and tranquil environment, in part because the surrounding area contains little build-up and is free of urbanization.
