White Bay Beach

A white sand beach on Jost Van Dyke island, White Bay is flanked by villas and hotels. There is also a heavy amount of greenery behind the beach, standing in contrast to the light colored sand.

Located in White Bay, 0.6 miles west-southwest of Great Harbour, this beach is on the West coast of Jost Van Dyke. You might want to drop by regardless of whether you're staying very close. Vacationers will notice that, although White Bay Beach is by no means secluded, it's not the most crowded beach in the Virgin Islands either. This makes it a good option for vacationers who want to visit a somewhat lively beach but also want to skip out on the crowds.

A long stretch of curving beach, this spot is very popular with boaters because its located on the smaller island of Jost Van Dyke.

Of course, there is also a restaurant located right on-site. Every destination has its own culinary style, and the Virgin Islands is no different. One of the most enjoyable places to enjoy delicious local specialties is right on the water. So, you may wish to consider getting pre-packed lunches from your hotel if they offer them. Or, it would be easy to grab some hot food from a street vendor or casual cafe along the way.

If you're suddenly hungry or thirsty, the concession stand at White Bay Beach is the ultimate convenience.

The closest town is , which is a region with interesting things to do, yet is never overly congested. From the shore, Road Town is about nine and a half miles (15 and a half kilometers) away.


The popularity of this spot on any given day can vary, it depends on several things: the season, the weather, even how packed the nearby hotels are. The beach is not located close to many large hotels, but it can appeal to visitors from smaller accommodations in the area.


When you're starving for a midday meal, the area near this beach provides some viable options, and you won't have to look too far from the shore. One of the closest places to eat is Jewel's Snack Shop. This restaurant features American food. They're perhaps most famous, though, for their hamburgers.
