Set in a town of the same name just 10 miles east of La Romana, the beach at Bayahibe is great for swimming and snorkeling because the waters are so calm, but simply relaxing under the shade of a palm is a popular option as well. Excursions to the pristine islands of Saona and Catalina for snorkeling and diving regularly embark from Bayahibe.

Set in the vicinity of La Romana, northwest of Bayahibe, this beach is on the East coast of Hispaniola. You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying nearby. The beaches in the Dominican Republic aren't usually known for their peace and quiet, however, Bayahibe is tamer than most, which offers some middle ground to those who don't want to wander too far away, but would rather avoid the most hectic parts of town.

How to Access The Beach
Bayahibe is located in front of Hotel Casa fel Mar and Dream la Roma at the end of Dreams la Roma Entrance Road.

Amenities and Ambiance

Bayahibe is a large half-moon shaped expanse of beach that is lined with majestic palms and powdered with soft whit sand. The beach is a popular tourist destination because of the clear, calm aquamarine waters and is lined with hotels and resorts. Just off the coast, visitors can experience the tranquility of the islands of Saona and Catalina.

The concession stand on-site could come in handy, even if you plan to have lunch elsewhere. If available, you could also order lunch from one of the local vendors who typically set up at this spot.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Bayahibe is popular amongst tourists of all ages and interests. From families with children to couples on honeymoon, it is a diverse mix.
