Flying to Loiza

The major airport on Puerto Rico is just a half an hour away from Loiza

One of the busiest airports in the Caribbean is located on the island of Puerto Rico, just a quick car ride away from Loiza. Although the lack of a direct flight to Loiza may be slightly upsetting, the distance is not great enough for it to impact your vacation plans greatly.

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport

The airport nearest Loiza is the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). It opened in Isla Verde, right near San Juan, in May of 1955 and has grown to be one of the largest, most modern, and busiest airports in the Caribbean over the years. Originally, the airport consisted of an air traffic control stand, three terminals, a small parking garage, and an asphalt runway measuring 9,783 feet long. Now, there is not only an additional concrete runway (that is 8,016 feet long) and an extra terminal, but inside is a Mecca of shopping and dining for guests, as well as conference rooms that can be utilized by business professionals. Today, around 8 million passengers travel through this airport each year.
