Luperon Beach

Water sports are the main attraction at Luperon Beach with everything from snorkeling to windsurfing equipment available in huts along the beach. The surf can be a little rough, so swimming is not a recommended pastime for novice swimmers, but snack bars provide light foods and cold drinks to make the tropical heat less taxing for those who still want to relax on the beach.

Located on the northern outskirts of Luperon, Luperon Beach is on the North West edge of the Dominican Republic. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. You will generally find the beach to be rather roomy, as the beach and its surrounding area is not extremely crowded.

Luperon Beach is wide expanse of pristine white sand that lies west of Puerto Plata. Palm trees line the beach and provide protective shade while the aquamarine waters appear cool and inviting.

Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch. Sometimes, visitors will be able to get lunch from one of the local vendors who operate at or near this spot.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. The crowd along the shores at Luperon Beach mainly consist of nearby hotel and resort guests and other tourists.

If you happen to favor sunny days that offer a peaceful enclave, then you will want to try Luperon Beach; it is hidden away in a more natural part of the region.

The closest section in the Dominican Republic to Luperon Beach is Luperon. This location is only three quarters of a mile from the shore, so a visit doesn't need to take up the whole day. Keep in mind that this section in the Dominican Republic is not heavily urbanized, though it will be a nice day out for guests wanting to get a taste of local life.


The mood here——social and lively, or virtually empty—— will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels.

You shouldn't anticipate finding any of the Dominican Republic's popular resorts and hotels near this beach, but if you're looking to elude hoards of travelers, the lack of accommodation options will be welcomed.
