Mahaut is a popular destination amongst tourists visiting Dominica, who come to marvel at the unique nature of the beaches here.  Rather than bright, white sands and crystal-clear waters, here you'll encounter darker sands and smaller shores, backed by the lush tropical greenery that visitors have come to expect of the "Nature Isle."

Which Beaches Are Available?

There are a large selection of beaches to visit in and around the area. Just click on specific beach names for more detail concerning that particular stretch of sand.

Rodney Rock Beach: A sandy strip of coastline on Dominica's edge, this beach is a nice spot to take a break if you're sightseeing along Dominica's western coast.

A second option to consider is Donkey Beach. Not your normal beach getaway, Donkey Beach is more suited for a quick excursion for those staying in the city than a day at the beach.

Mero Beach: The gray and sandy Mero Beach is located on the west coast of Dominica. It has a nice long stretch of sand, a rarity for Dominica's rocky coastline.
