Mahaut is a popular destination amongst tourists visiting Dominica, who come to marvel at the unique nature of the beaches here. Rather than bright, white sands and crystal-clear waters, here you'll encounter darker sands and smaller shores, backed by the lush tropical greenery that visitors have come to expect of the "Nature Isle."
You will discover a large selection of beaches to visit in and around the area. Just click on each beach name for more detail concerning that beach.
Rodney Rock Beach: A small beach outlining a coastal town, the water here is crystal clear and calm and the sand is rocky and gray. There isn't a lot of activity on this beach but it's a nice spot for sunset views.
Another location to consider is Donkey Beach. Donkey Beach is located right off the main road and within feet of the airport and an industrial park. This makes for poor tropical scenery, but it useful if you wanted to go to the same beach as the locals.
Mero Beach: The gray and sandy Mero Beach is located on the west coast of Dominica. It has a nice long stretch of sand, a rarity for Dominica's rocky coastline.
