Mahaut is a popular destination amongst tourists visiting Dominica, who come to marvel at the unique nature of the beaches here. Rather than bright, white sands and crystal-clear waters, here you'll encounter darker sands and smaller shores, backed by the lush tropical greenery that visitors have come to expect of the "Nature Isle."
You will discover a large selection of beaches to consider in and around the area. Just click on the name of the beach for a detailed guide to that particular location.
Rodney Rock Beach: A small beach outlining a coastal town, the water here is crystal clear and calm and the sand is rocky and gray. There isn't a lot of activity on this beach but it's a nice spot for sunset views.
A second location to consider is Donkey Beach. Not your normal beach getaway, Donkey Beach is more suited for a quick excursion for those staying in the city than a day at the beach.
Mero Beach: The gray and sandy Mero Beach is located on the west coast of Dominica. It has a nice long stretch of sand, a rarity for Dominica's rocky coastline.
