Arashi Beach

Arashi Beach is a favorite spot among snorkelers and windsurfers, though a very pleasant experience can be had on shore as well. Tropical huts dot the beach for shade, and just off the beach, fascinating wildlife can be admired. Located at the edge of a residential area, this is a relatively quiet, peaceful spot particularly since motorized water sports are not allowed, though don't expect much in the way of facilities.

Positioned on the island of Aruba, 0.9 miles northwest of Tierra Del Sol, You should consider stopping by even if you are not staying particularly close by. Arashi Beach stands out from other beaches because it's perfect for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in Aruba may have the same warm sand and calming breezes as Arashi Beach, but are usually more cramped because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.

How to Access The Beach
Arashi Beach is located north of Malmok Beach at the northwestern tip of Aruba and is easily accessible by car or taxi, with parking readily available. A 10-15 minute walk from the northernmost Malmok bus stop is also an option. The historic California Lighthouse is nearby.

Amenities and Ambiance

The calm, clear turquoise waters here make for phenomenal snorkeling, where schools of exotic, tropical fish and elkhorn coral can be found. For more serious divers, there is the opportunity to go down and see the Antilla Shipwreck, where the remains of a German cargo ship from WWII sit on the ocean floor. On shore, the sand is white and soft, though there are shells and pebbles in places. Sunbathers will also find this an ideal spot, where windsurfers can be watched, and kids will be able to enjoy the shallow wading area.

You'll be able to use picnic tables at this beach, where you can park your belongings for the afternoon, or set up a quick lunch.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. Fortunately, umbrellas will be available for use to visitors seeking a relaxing spot in the shade. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear and good for snorkeling, so grab some gear if you're looking to see some exciting marine life.
