Picturesque Marigot Bay is so pleasing to the eye that it is often used in aerial shots for Hollywood films. Along the shores, tourists will find the beaches to be slightly crowded by others hoping to spend time on some of the most beautiful beaches on the island. If you're looking for something on the private side, ask a local for their pick.
Although these beaches will not generally have bathrooms and changing facilities right on the shores, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and other establishments nearby that make up for it.
You'll find a large number of beaches to enjoy in and around the area. Snorkeling is an option at several locations, for people who are so inclined. You can click on the name of each beach for more information concerning that section of the coast.
La Toc Beach: From the center of Castries City, go west past the Ferry Terminal on Millenium Hwy. The road winds a bit, and taking your fourth right will put you on the road with access to the beach.
Another place worth considering is Anse Couchon. The shores of Anse Couchon beach are covered with rich black volcanic sand, and edge the peaceful aquamarine waters of the Caribbean. The beach is 200 meters long and the jungle undergrowth it lies in front of adds a mystic quality.
Vigie Beach: The sandy shores of Vigie Beach slope gently into the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. The beach is well sheltered, providing relief from unruly tradewinds.
