Roseau Bay

The unspoilt quality at this beach is perfect for a picnic or just relaxing and enjoying the view. This beach should not be confused with the nearby cove at Marigot Bay. With scarcely any development on the beach but with restaurants and other interesting areas nearby, this is a great spot to enjoy a day in the sun before you head out for a lovely dinner as the sun goes down.

Positioned near the middle of the island of Saint Lucia, 0.7 miles south west of Marigot Bay, Roseau Bay is on the North West edge of the island, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. Roseau Bay stands out from other beaches because it's the ideal location for escaping the hustle of St. Lucia's urban areas. Most other beaches you'll come across on St. Lucia may be just as pretty, but tend to be busier because they border some of the area's most popular resorts.

How to Access The Beach
Boaters docking at Marigot Bay will have easy access to this beach. It's a bit more of a challenge for those coming on land. If you are driving from Castries, you will need to head south on La Toc Rd past Waterfront. Take your first right on the small road after Roseau, and follow it to the shore. A 4-wheel drive is recommended.

Amenities and Ambiance

The unspoiled shoreline of Roseau Bay is one of the most unspoiled and secluded spots on the west coast of the island. The beach is lined with flourishing palm trees, and steep green hills provide the perfect backdrop to this natural paradise. The waters of Roseau Bay are calm and clear, which make for favorable swimming conditions.

Also, you have the option of trying the restaurant located right on Roseau Bay. There are an assortment of dining options on St. Lucia, but not all your meals have to be in a sit-down restaurant. Some vacationers find it more convenient and relaxing to eat on near the beach than in another restaurant. With this in mind, you might ask your hotel if they offer to pack picnic lunches for their guests. Otherwise, you could easily grab some of St. Lucia's famous street food along the way.

Even if you plan to dine elsewhere, the snack bar on-site could come in handy. If available, you could also get lunch from one of the local vendors who typically operate along this coastline.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business. The water in the area is of good snorkeling quality, so grab some equipment if you've been hoping to get in some underwater exploration. The bay at Marigot Beach is a popular docking spot for boaters. Yachts and other recreational boats frequently stop at these picturesque shores, including some of the region's most expensive sea crafts.

If you like shores that bring visitors a quiet environment, then a good choice for you is Roseau Bay; it is found in a less urban section of Saint Lucia.
