Roseau Bay

The unspoilt quality at this beach is perfect for a picnic or just relaxing and enjoying the view. This beach should not be confused with the nearby cove at Marigot Bay. With scarcely any development on the beach but with restaurants and other interesting areas nearby, this is a great spot to enjoy a day in the sun before you head out for a lovely dinner as the sun goes down.

Positioned on the island of Saint Lucia, 0.7 miles south west of Marigot Bay, Roseau Bay is on the North West edge of the island, You should consider dropping by whether or not you are staying very close. Not looking forward to staking out a spot at a busy beach? All the more reason you should find a beach that isn't packed full of hotel guests; beautiful but out-of-the-way beaches like Roseau Bay allow you much more room to spread out and feel comfortable.

How to Access The Beach
Boaters docking at Marigot Bay will have easy access to this beach. It's a bit more of a challenge for those coming on land. If you are driving from Castries, you will need to head south on La Toc Rd past Waterfront. Take your first right on the small road after Roseau, and follow it to the shore. A 4-wheel drive is recommended.

Amenities and Ambiance

The unspoiled shoreline of Roseau Bay is one of the most unspoiled and secluded spots on the west coast of the island. The beach is lined with flourishing palm trees, and steep green hills provide the perfect backdrop to this natural paradise. The waters of Roseau Bay are calm and clear, which make for favorable swimming conditions.

Of course, there is also a restaurant located right on-site. Every location around the world has its own style of cuisine, and St. Lucia is no different. One of the best places to discover local delicacies is right next to the coast. Ask your hotel about picnic lunches, as some hotels offer to pack snacks for their guests' day trips. Otherwise, there are plenty of walk-up vendors that offer hot, on-the-go food.

Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch. Sometimes, visitors will be able to order lunch from one of the local vendors who set up shop at the beach.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. The water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so grab your gear if you want to see what lies beneath the surface. The bay at Marigot Beach is a popular docking spot for boaters. Yachts and other recreational boats frequently stop at these picturesque shores, including some of the region's most expensive sea crafts.

If you tend to go for coasts which grant a serene enclave, then a good choice for you is Roseau Bay; it is found in a less urbanized part of the region.
