Baie de Marigot

Baie de Marigot is a highly popular bay in St. Martin, with a ferry terminal that provides passage to the neighboring island of Anguilla. If you look west you can watch the ships flow in and out of the popular marina.

Situated on the outskirts of Marigot, about a hundred yards south west of "downtown," Baie de Marigot is on the South coast of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. Travelers who want to avoid long taxi rides will like how easy it is to reach Baie de Marigot. The area surrounding this beach has so much to offer because it is right in the center of all the daytime activity.

How to Access The Beach
Resorts flank the beach here and make public access less convenient, but not impossible. Park across the street, which is called Rue de Sandy Ground, and walk around the resorts, east towards the marina and you can get around the resorts and onto the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sweep of sand that makes up Baie de Marigot beach is on the southeast end of the bay. If you head south from the beach you'll find many shops and restaurants. The sand is soft and white and there are some interesting rock formations on the beach.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.

Since Baie de Marigot is located in an area that sees many visitors, you'll want to plan accordingly.
