Located within a small fishing village, Anse Dufour is not normally used for swimming. Instead, the beach mainly serves and a place for picnic, or a launching pad for boats. However, it is not uncommon to see someone cooling off in the water on a hot day.

Located just outside the heart of the island of Martinique, 5.7 miles south of Fort de France, Anse Dufour is on the South West coast of the island, You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity. Those of you who spend part of the afternoon at this beach can have a relaxing time without missing the chance to do a little people watching.

How to Access The Beach
A road named Chemin Rural de L Anse Dufour breaks off from Highway D-7. Take it until it splits right and left. Take the right turn and you will be at the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach is lined with houses and boats, and as a residential section, do not expect too much privacy.

Of course, there is also a restaurant located right on-site. Martinique has so many interesting places to sit and enjoy a meal, but don't think that tables, chairs, and waiters are prerequisites for a great meal. Many visitors, in fact, like having lunch very close-by. Did you know that many hotels are able to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, street vendors and casual walk-up eateries will have take-out dishes you can bring to the beach.

The concession stand located here is another lunchtime alternative.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
