Anse Dufour

Located within a small fishing village, Anse Dufour is not normally used for swimming. Instead, the beach mainly serves and a place for picnic, or a launching pad for boats. However, it is not uncommon to see someone cooling off in the water on a hot day.

Situated on the island of Martinique, 5.7 miles south of Fort de France, Anse Dufour is on the South West coast of the island, You should consider dropping by regardless of whether you are staying nearby. Martinique's beaches are pretty busy for the most part, however, Anse Dufour is tamer than most, making it a good pick for those of you who want to stay away from big crowds, but still get the most out of their beach visit.

How to Access The Beach
A road named Chemin Rural de L Anse Dufour breaks off from Highway D-7. Take it until it splits right and left. Take the right turn and you will be at the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach is lined with houses and boats, and as a residential section, do not expect too much privacy.

Of course, you could always try the shoreside restaurant right on Anse Dufour, which is the ultimate convenience for beachgoers. Vacationers will find plenty of places on Martinique serving up delicious local cuisine, but not every meal needs to be eaten in a formal setting. Many visitors find it more convenient and relaxing to eat on near the beach than in another restaurant. Did you know that many hotels are able to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, street vendors and casual walk-up eateries will have take-out dishes you can bring to the beach.

There is also a concession stand available.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.

You'll find it 15 and a half miles to the east-southeast. Les Salines is the perfect Martinique beach for travelers seeking bright sun and white sand. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Anse Noire is an area which doesn't host as many visitors. It is located just a little ways away.

Another option worth considering is Plage de Madiana, located not too far away, meaning a quick ride in a taxi can take you where you want to go.
