Anse Tartane is a small beach. However, what it is missing in sand it makes up for in waves. The rough water at this beach has put it on the radar of many local and visiting surfers. Not much else is for the beach, as the rough waves can make swimming tough, and even nappers at the far end of the beach can be hit by a wave.
Situated near the middle of the island of Martinique, 6.9 miles north-northeast of Le Robert, Anse Tartane is on the North East coast of the island, You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying nearby. This beach is not just another pleasant piece of the coast, it is one of the more unique and quiet beaches on Martinique. While Anse Tartane might be a bit off the beaten path, it's a pleasure to find an undisturbed plot of sand like this one.
You can reach Anse Tartane by traveling up the aptly named Rue du Surf, right off the Highway D-2.
Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
Anse Tartane brings visitors an angelic and serene environment, due to the fact that the area surrounding the beach isn't too crowded at all.
Anse Tartane is beautiful natural attraction, which you'll find on the North East coast of Martinique. It's located near, which is not far from away. Some will choose to walk here, while others will want to take a taxi, and it is one of a few attractions in the area.
If you want to combine culture with your visit to the beach, you might want to consider visiting Musee de la Banane, a lovely museum found just a cab ride away, so it would be an easy side trip to take after the beach.

Sainte Marie is the closest town and is noted for its balance between seclusion and urbanization. From the shore, Sainte Marie isn't out of reach at six and a half miles (ten kilometers) away.
Whether this spot is full of bodies or practically empty will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels. At this beach, you can expect to encounter quite a few travelers staying at the closest accommodations.
Although you will generally find few hotels in the area, those options closest to the beach can be viewed in the table that follows.
You might not run into any places to grab a bit to eat surrounding this location, so it would be a good idea to plan a picnic if you want to fully enjoy your time spent at the beach.
Of course, there are lots of other spots along the coast of Martinique, so if Anse Tartane doesn't suit you, you can still find a great spot.
If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Anse l'Entang, found only a short distance away. Still, if you're searching for something a little more active, you might enjoy people watching at Plage de Cosmy. It's found four and a half miles to the west.

Of course, Martinique has hundreds of natural wonders to discover, but a trip to Anse Tartane could end up a family favorite.
